AI starts teaching

AI now acts as a tutor in student education: IBM Watson goes a step further into teaching

This will give students a more immersive learning experience with their college courses, an easy way to get help and insights when they need it, all through asking questions in natural language just like they would with another student or professor. Importantly, it provides instructors with insights about how well students are learning, allowing them to better manage the entire course and flag students who need additional help.

Laboratory Created Eggs

Mice eggs created in the lab (medical innovation) and used to produce offspring.

Scientists have created working mammalian eggs from scratch and used them to produce healthy offspring.

They used stem cells both obtained from embryos and generated from mature cells taken from the tips of mouse tails.

A number of the eggs were eventually fertilised using a standard IVF technique and the resulting embryos produced healthy, fertile offspring. However, the success rate was low [for now...].

Your Brain on Quantum Computers?

Most don't realise, but quantum computers already exist, and for some tasks they are exceptionally powerful! One day computers will have the power of the human brain, and more. So it is possible that one day a computer could emulate a human brain [or its mind].

Just because we can, does it mean we should? This will be one of the biggest ethical and potentially dangerous decisions the human race will make [similar to the challenges posed by human type artificial intelligence]. Be careful what you wish for!

Now to the article...

Rocket fuel and rocket launches from the Moon

NASA’s ‘blue collar robot’ may help astronauts colonize Mars - space innovation

Lifting massive amounts of fuel just to leave the Earth is very inefficient. These little robots will mine soil on the Moon, or Mars, so that water can be extracted from it and it's then separated into hydrogen and oxygen (rocket fuel).
